About the image text overlay tool
The image text overlay tool stamps a line of text onto one image or a whole batch, with control over the wording, color, size, position, and a contrasting border. Upload several files at once, set the text once, and apply it to all of them, which is useful for captioning a set of product shots, labeling screenshots, or adding a tag line to a run of social images.
You can drop in individual images or a zip, and the original filenames carry through to the output so a batch stays organized. A live preview shows your settings on the first image before you commit, and finished images come back as single downloads or a zip.
How to use
- Drag images into the upload box or click it to choose files, including a zip of several images.
- Review the uploaded files list, then select Next to move to the editor.
- Type your text and set its color, size, and location (top, bottom, left, or right).
- Set a border width and color, and turn on bold or italic if you want them.
- Select Apply to all images, then Download to save a single image or a zip of the batch.
Worked examples
20 product photos, one caption, bottom placement
Add the same price tag line across a catalog set in a single pass instead of editing each file.
White text, 2px black border, top placement
A border keeps a light caption readable over both bright and dark areas of a photo.
A zip in, a zip out with names kept
Process a folder of screenshots and download them with their original filenames preserved.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I add text to several images at once?
- Yes. Upload multiple files or a zip, set the text and style once in the editor, and choose Apply to all images. Every image in the batch gets the same overlay, and you can download them together as a zip.
- Where can I place the text on the image?
- You can put it at the top, bottom, left, or right using the Location menu. Bottom is the default. The placement applies to every image in the batch.
- What does the border setting do?
- It draws an outline around each character in a color you choose, with a width you set in pixels. A border makes light text readable over busy or light backgrounds, for example white text with a thin black border.
- Will my original filenames be kept?
- Yes. The output keeps the filename of each source image, so a batch downloaded as a zip stays organized and easy to match back to the originals.
- Can I see the result before processing?
- Yes. The editor shows a live preview of your text on the first uploaded image and updates as you change the wording, color, size, position, border, and bold or italic styling.
- How long is my download available?
- Processed images are prepared for download for a limited time, and the link expires when you leave the page or after about 60 minutes, so save your files once they are ready.
- What text styling options are available?
- You can set the text content, a font color, a size in pixels, the placement, a border width and color, and toggle bold and italic. Reset returns every setting to its default if you want to start over.
